Deixis was born from my early morning ritual during a difficult time. With only a few hours each day to create, I found myself drawn to labdanum—one of perfumery's oldest materials, treasured for over 5,000 years.

Working in those quiet pre-dawn hours, I found it grounding to connect with such an ancient material while the world was still asleep. I created an amber with a sense of presence and calm. The result balances the rich, honeyed warmth of labdanum with transparent vanilla and frankincense.

A very special tribute

I followed along on Instagram as Deixis was being created, and now having it in my collection it is all the more special for knowing what went into the process. This is a gorgeous, rich, complex amber fragrance that I'm really enjoying.

A bottled story...

Buying fragrance without testing it first can be a risk. No matter how much the perfumer intends to make something gorgeous and loved we all have our own noses, our own preferences and environments that can really impact what we smell and how we get on with it.

Yet I trust FZOTIC with pretty much anything. Nothing I've had to date has ever been bad. Sure, some I've sampled haven't been my personal taste but never off-putting or poorly done. Just not for me.

However, Deixis continued this string of good fortune as I LOVE it. It might seem intimidating by the colour but it's that sort of healing, soothing, comforting darkness that cocoons you. The fragrance really wraps you up in warmth and beauty. No hard edges, powerful but not intense. It's so well blended that nothing really stands out. It just becomes this veil of gorgeous fragrance around you.

I'm so lucky to have a bottle yet I'll be using it sparingly as I know I'll miss it when it's gone.

A moving piece of perfumery

Watching Bruno catalog the process of creating this perfume was moving in itself. But the real thing is even more so. Deixis is like a warm hug that makes you cry. But that cry brings relief. Things may never go back to the way they were, but that doesn't mean they can't still be good.

Bruno has accomplished an all-weather amber that retains depth and complexity. So happy to have snagged a bottle.

Lovely

I'm extremely happy with this scent and thankful that I was able to grab this before it sold out. My only regret is buying the travel size vs the full bottle.

Cozy and comforting

Deixis is simply a gorgeous fragrance. I’m not a gourmand fanatic, but I would classify this as such. It’s warm, chocolatey, fuzzy, and rich. Just a bit sweet.
I am reminded a bit of Les Indemodables Vanille Havane , which is a huge compliment. I’m just sad I have to wait until it’s cooled off a bit to be able to wear it!
