A word about sodium hydroxide (i.e. lye): soap is the result of a transformative process called saponification. No lye remains after saponifying the oils into soap and glycerin.

Absolutely love this
I've been using this the past few weeks, and it is a clear step above other soaps I've tried. My skin always feel so supple and healthy after using this soap, as opposed to a lot of the mass-market soaps I been using. The scent on this is very subtle and natural scent, so don't expect it to fill the whole house with aroma the way mall soaps tend to do. I don't find the cedar note particularly pronounced (I get more honey and grasses/hay), but it's a nice fragrance. I'm already looking forward to testing the other two soaps I got in my order!
