Deixis is a special scent and everything that it says it is. I understand that Bruno made this during a difficult time, and the care he took with this really comes through. I first tried Deixis during a rough time of my own and it has become a scent of deep comfort for me. My therapist also used to have an office that smelled of vanilla, so that adds another layer of association for me.

This is my first time trying a perfume with a gourmand element. I wasn’t sure how I’d like something sweet when I am typically drawn to darker and earthier profiles, but this isn’t a one-note confection. The vanilla is there and sweet, but there is so much depth, warmth, and complexity that makes you want to take deep breaths and luxuriate in it. I wear this when I need a presence of comfort around me (which is often nowadays) and a reminder to slow down and breathe. It really does feel like a cocoon as described. Truly a beautiful scent that has become therapy in a bottle for me.

Purchased a discovery pack, and Deixis was the scent that stood out to me most, so I bought a bottle. A woman in the elevator at my work told me, "You smell like cuddling up in your boyfriend's sweater for coffee on a cold day." I realized much too late I should have asked that woman out.

I love this fragrance, my favorite from Fzotic so far. I have worn it multiple times since I received. Going to buy a larger bottle.

I bought the full size of Deixis after experimenting with a Fzotic discovery set. I’ve always been extremely picky about perfume, mostly because it always ends up smelling too pungent, has too much projection for my taste and/or will trigger allergies. Deixis is perfect IMO, it’s not too strong and it doesn’t project a ton, but it has staying power and I’ve gotten many compliments on it. No perfume headaches or allergies either. I love the warm and cozy feeling the scent evokes. I also love that it’s not clear perfume and the bottle design, both aestetically and because of the sprayer that doesn’t dispense a ton at once and does so in a fine mist. I fear Fzotic has ruined me because every perfume I’ve smelled after their discovery scent just smells basic or kind of cheap.

I was fortunate to get a bottle with the first release. I noticed that my husband was wearing it a lot so I hid the bottle in the medicine cabinet. Not sure how many releases they’ll do so I scored another bottle that I’m keeping for myself. This is an all year fragrance. Normally I stay away from anything vanilla but this works. More luxury than gourmand. Very complex with a powdery finish.

AMAZING. There is something rich and unique to this literally green (juice) vanilla that I couldn’t get enough of. Is it styrax? Frankincense? It’s the nostalgic feeling of chewing gum in church, or a cabin you stayed in as a kid. Yes it’s sweet, but the herby note lifts the vanilla at the same time as it adds to the rich comforting fuzziness. I didn’t plan to buy Deixis but once I smelled it, it was full bottle time… even in late spring when this is decidedly a chilly weather smell. I am very excited to have it ready for fall, and to visit with it occasionally until then…

This fragrance is such a masterpiece it’s hard to find words. It’s such a rich mysterious vanilla. I obsessed over the sample and ordered my full bottle within 24 hours because I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I love it!

A warm, cozy, inviting scent, with textures that change as it progress. A very lovely scent.

Blind buys are really hard for me, I've been enchanted by descriptions of scents only to be wildly disappointed when they arrive. Not this time! The first spritz was delicious, warm and enveloping without being heavy. This is the second scent I've bought "blind" from Fzotic and I love both. If you're on the fence, take the leap!

At first sniff of a sample, I just had to own a bottle. It's syrupy and resinous in a way that feels balanced.. It manages to be sweet without being cloying, it's rich without being heavy, it's comforting without suffocating. I own a lot of amber and incense fragrances but this one is surprisingly different.

Another hit. I blind-bought the travel size, confident that I would enjoy and the reality exceeded expectations. Warm and familiar while still a bit adventurous, moody without being overly dark, it’s something I will wear often. Bonus points for the fantastic customer service—I too was impacted by the Black Friday Shopify issues and Fzotic went above and beyond to make it right. Well worth the wait!

i should start by saying i'm not a perfume aficianado. i love fragrance, but typically buy what everyone else buys. yes, i'm that person.

i became fascinated by fzotic when someone mentioned it in a forum. i signed up for bruno's newsletter and became even more interested. this - and he - were clearly something different.

i ordered a travel size of deixis within five minutes of its second drop. my fascination was well-rewarded. there's NOTHING like this lovely fragrance out there - absolutely nothing. it's dark and mysterious in the most lovely and soothing way. i can't really discuss notes or the technical aspects because i'm no perfume expert, as i said. all i know is that it's gorgeous and i love it.

This was a blind buy for me and so was Lampblack so I had a good sense of what this fragrance was going to smell like based on the description and dark color. I love Frankincense and this has it and everything that pairs well with it. Definitely the kind of fragrance you want to smell when you turn out the lights, light some candles, and put on your favorite moody music that maybe only you appreciate and you drift into a chill out place.

As someone who empathizes, I have been seeking a Parfume that hits home. This is it. Blind buy safe IMO. Thank you Bruno. Everything is balanced perfectly and there is a light in the darkness here.

But surprisingly mellow! It smells like slightly smoky root beer to me. And that's a Good Thing.

I have to give a shout out to Fzotic's customer service. I was affected by the Black Friday snafu, and they reached out to make things right. Immense respect for how a difficult situation was handled.

This has that very distinct Fzotic DNA, and if you're a fan of what they do and you love a deep, warm, resinous scent, this one is going to raise your bar for what to expect from one. Deeply elegant and balanced, like the smell of inner calm, I'll be cherishing this one for the last weeks of winter.

this perfume is just beauty in a bottle. It reminds me of being in a Parisian cathedral- the smell of incense, history and beauty. I appreciate this one so much.

First off, Deixis is a gorgeous scent, unlike any other amber I’ve smelled. This is the molasses of amber fragrances, with a hefty dose of labdanum, giving it a dense, chewy texture, while not being smoky or hard to wear. This is truly unisex, and a perfect addition to your collection if you like your vanillas not sweet or gourmand.

Second, I wanted to call out Fzotic CS, because they had an issue with their backend that resulted in an inventory error so this ended up backordered by a few months. They were communicative of the issue right away, and refunded my money, and still sent the product when it became available again free of charge. I realize this was probably a significant hit to their income since I was not the only one affected, so I don’t take this for granted and I will always recommend Fzotic for the artistry of the fragrances and the customer service.

If the Deixis summery/blurb sounds up your alley just get it. Immediate favorite.

This simultaneously smells like the middle of a cinnamon roll, a really well polished hardwood dresser, and some sticky sappy conifers. Its my favorite from the brand.

I have several fragrances from FZOTIC; each one quickly became a favorite; thus Deixis EDP is now my most favorite; warm and very smooth!

I’ve loved all of Bruno’s scents since I first sampled them. Umma Gumma was delicious; Corpse Reviver was so warm and enveloping, in spite of its imaginative name; but when I tried Deixis, the skies opened up. I ordered full bottles of them, and Deixis is my go-to fragrance for Fall and Winter. I was looking for a moody yet sensual incense, and this just sends me to another place, somewhere “beyond the veil”. It is soulful, mystical and I can’t get enough!

Wow! This is awesome. I was worried it might be a bit masculine, but it really is perfectly balanced, and absolutely phenomenal.
