Gorgeous

This fragrance transformed me into an amber fan. I usually reach for dry, dark, and smoky fragrances, and that’s what I thought this was going to be, but Deixis surprised me with its brightness and sweetness. Throughout its entire wearing experience Deixis is glorious, and enveloping. Not too dynamic but it’s better that way because it feels dependable and like a source of stability. I’ve found myself reaching for it more and more as the temps have been dropping. Personally, I’ve noticed that it does in fact impart a sense of comfort and equanimity. I also love the packaging artwork and new bottle design. I feel grateful to have this is my collection.

What makes Deixis stand out isn’t just the scent itself (and it is a true beauty!) but the sense that it was made with real intention. You can tell this was a personal project for the perfumer. There’s a quiet honesty to it, like something created not for trends or mass appeal, but out of a need to capture a feeling. The fragrance itself is understated and comforting. It opens with a soft sweetness that never turns cloying, then settles into a warm blend of amber, frankincense, and sandalwood. It feels calm and reflective, not perfumey in a showy way, but more like something you wear for yourself.
Because it was born out of a private, almost meditative routine (composed in the early morning hours while the rest of the world was quiet) it carries that mood with it. As a wearer, you pick up on that intimacy. It’s the kind of scent that doesn’t demand attention but quietly becomes part of your day, your thoughts.
In a way, Deixis feels like wearing someone else’s journal entry, not in a voyeuristic sense, but in that it invites you into a moment of sincerity.

I’ve never regretted any purchase from Fzotic. You can tell everything is made with care, especially Deixis. The color is also stunning. As a perfume, it’s beautiful, sweet, vanilla, warm amber. For me personally, it’s not my favorite. It is similar to Ummagumma but Dexis is more sweet and Ummagumma is more incense. They are def both unisex but Deixis leans fem and Ummagumma leans masc in my opinion. I don’t regret the purchase at all, but I am looking to trade for an Ummagumma. But until that happens, Deixis will be on my shelf sitting pretty.

Big fan of amber scents, and this one measures up to heavy hitters from other lines. Fzotic always puts out thoughtful, excellent scents. Can't go wrong with this one.
