I have been dreaming of this fragrance since last summer and it is finally mine! I live in Phoenix and lived in Tucson when I was younger. Anything from Bruno is extra special as an Arizonan so this was the third addition to my Fzotic collection.

I received my Soft Focus and the formulation is not so subtly different. The sulfurous fruity quality seems to have moved towards a greener figgy one. I also can’t detect the chili note until a bit later in development. The subdued sticky sweetness of the original formulation seems to be different, perhaps it’s the green of the figgy scent pulling the sweetness into a higher register. It actually seems more tenacious and a bit bolder too. This is the first time I’ve purchased a second bottle of one of your fragrances. Has it been your experience that different batches have differences that could be perceived as different “vintages”? Is it possible subsequent vintages may be able to recapture the sulfurous fruitiness? Or is it fair to think this perfume has simply begun its inevitable evolution into something a little different? I appreciate the opportunity to be candid with you and hope my observations are not perceived as inflammatory. I love Fzotic and I am genuinely interested in understanding your process.

The most lovely guava pineapple lime opening, summer fruit without being too sweet or overpowering. Coconut leather and salty skin and soft creamy sandalwood dry down. Love love.

Summer fruits and citrus that stay grounded in reality with the leather and cashmeran. This isn't a skin scent, but the composition is such that you could realistically Just Smell Like That – salt air, dry sandalwood, photorealistic coconut.

Bruno is the best at citruses – if you wish the top and middle notes in your fragrances stayed around longer, Fzotic is your answer. I love this brand with my whole soul.

Summer is the time of sweat, sunscreen, humidity and a feeling of overwhelming dread. Is this heat going to last forever? Why does that streetcorner smell like- oh. oh that's why.

Enter Soft Focus. A welcome antithesis to the stifling. It's comfortable and very warm, in a good way. Like biting into fresh fruit sprinkled with Tajin, it's refreshingly satisfying. It's a reminder that warm weather brings friends together, perhaps in a quiet, lush backyard. A breeze blows, cutting through the humidity. Somewhere nearby someone has started a charcoal fire. Maybe you should do the same, you've got that pineapple you've been meaning to grill.

I wish I could give this 4.5 stars. The spice note at the front actually makes me feel a little ill, but once that fades it is a beautiful scent. It’s light and unobtrusive but definitely still present. Great summer scent!

What a smash! Love it, so fruity with such a nice chilly note to amp it up! Settles into a soft refreshing subtly, sweet skin scent.

Let me start by saying that this does not smell bad. But it is not the same soft focus that I’ve been waiting months to get. The guava is undetectable to my nose. To be honest it smells like a men’s shower gel product. It’s more masculine for sure. It’s clean and in offensive, but lacks the interest and fruitiness that initially made me want to buy soft focus in the first place. I’m sad about this reformulation.

I first got Soft Focus in one of the sample packs and had to wait nine months for it to be restocked. It was worth the wait. This scent blooms and feels invigorating yet carefree and is very versatile. Learning that Bruno’s inspiration for this scent was Hockney’s swimming pool paintings makes so much sense and makes me love this scent even more. It’s like wearing vivid greens, blues, and oranges. This is one you can make a confident blind buy.

It’s the summer scent I never knew I needed! Tropical without being childish. Like a piña colada sitting next to a plate of ripe guava slices, waiting for you on a cocktail table made of freshly oiled sandalwood.

Bruno is an amazing artist and makes some really beautiful fragrances. My favorite thing about Soft Focus is how it transforms throughout the day and you notice new things about it almost every time you wear it. I have received several compliments and enjoy wearing it often.

smells excellent. The ladies love it

i've been a fzotic fan for quite a while, after discovering lamp black at a local boutique. i got a discovery set for my birthday and fell in love with soft focus, with its both warm and bright notes. it has staying power, too, and i will catch its scent hours after applying.

I had pre-ordered my Soft Focus bottle when the news came out that a new scent was being released from Fzotic. I received my bottle back in June and began wearing it immediately. Living in the Bay Area, the weather was a little cool, and I was waiting to see how it would deal with the Oklahoma heat.

After a couple of wears in weather over three-digit degrees, I truly fell in love with the scent. Soft Focus wears exceptionally close to the skin in a cooler climate but has enough projection to gain compliments. This scent works its magic in weather where the heat can sometimes be unbearable. The Fruity Floweral notes come into play with the saltiness of ocean water. The sandalwood and coconut notes dry down beautifully on my skin. A fragrance worn close to the skin has impressive, lasting power. I could lightly smell it on my skin and tee-shirt several times the following day.

Pairing this with the Limonata soap makes it more of a cocktail drink character.

The guava starts off quite strong but mellows somewhat into a really wearable spicy tropical scent. Invigorating for warm weather.

I really like Soft Focus, and my partner and two discerning friends also found it to be very interesting and lovely. The fruitiness up front, then the sea salt, and eventual dry down to a more woodsy smell. Perfect for summer, but I might just keep wearing it.

Soft focus opens with an extremely well balanced floral, fruity air. It’s not heavy handed or overwhelming. It’s in the air on a clear sunny day. But as with so many of Bruno’s creations, there’s a base of perfumery past. There’s a layer beneath the modern pop of soft floral fruitiness that evokes vintage perfume. It’s so hidden that maybe I’m imagining it; but even if I am it’s a testament to how interesting a fragrance can be. I held off on a review as I wanted to wear it and really give it time. It’s certainly pleasant enough for a casual perfume lover but also interesting enough for those with a library of scents locked away in their olfactory memory. Beautiful, wearable and never boring.

This is a very fun scent and glad to add this to my collection. On my skin, the scent doesn’t last as long as the others. Would recommend checking it out if looking for a summery vibe.

Complex, soft,

I love this scent, it’s refreshing and a touch sweet. It settles in nicely and plays well with other scents in my wardrobe. It has some similarities with Unsettled, but feels a little mellower. Wears great in the summer heat!

Been wearing it non stop since it arrived. After having recently gotten back into wearing scents, I've been searching for something to daily drive. This is it for me, especially in my hot, humid city. Love depth of this scent.

I love sooooo many Bruno Fragrances - my absolute favorite and most unique. I love this new one I got it immediately. It’s brilliant. My other favorites are Montserrat and Five.

This is a lovely summer fragrance that wears fresh yet cozy, relaxed but crisp. It’s like a clean linen shirt to be worn lounging by a pool or out at a party. The Guava and lime is a lovely mixture with interesting facets from the salt and chili. Bedded down in the creamiest sandalwood and warm leather. Totally approachable, interesting, and lovely.

To me, Soft Focus by @fzotic is the scent of a midsummer night’s shenanigans. It has the fun, playful cocktails, complete with fruit garnishes and umbrellas. It has a touch of chili and leather hinting at a flirtation with a stranger. It has sea salt reminiscent of frenzied dancing in a crowded club. Then it has the soft, comforting woods of getting home safe and sound. All together you remember the night in a nostalgic soft-focused haze that says you’ll do it all again.

I first bought a travel size when this fragrance launched. The fresh guava and photorealistic lime had me. It was love at first sniff. I started telling all of my fragrance-addicted friends about the scent and the brand. I recently picked up a full bottle to make sure I don't run out.
